Well, today I went back and edited chapter 8 after adding a new section, then added a paragraph in chapter 3 (to fill in a story item that adds an element of foreshadowing .)

By the time I edited and wrote the start of chapter 9, I had only added a net of 610 words. It was 1000 new ones, but I will not be measuring myself that way for this.
