Guidelines
You set your own goal because we all have different writing situations. There’s a supercool form for that – set yourself with a login and then put your goal in there. The form will track your word count to post for you (with a public name of your choice) and consolidate everyone’s daily word counts to show what we as a group are capable of.
Word count is your personal measure. Set your goal and then post how you are doing to your goal. The form calculates that as a percentage because then the playing field is level for all. One goal is 40,000 words, but that’s generic. If you average 10k words per month, then I challenge you to get 11k. It’s not a challenge if you don’t challenge yourself. That’s the thing that matters.
My personal goal is 60k words. That’s 2k/day for me. As long as I’m at 25% of the way after one week, I’ll be right on track with a two-day cushion at the end of the month.
