Ole Åsli has a PhD in Psychology and a lifelong love of storytelling. He lives with his family in Tromsø, far north in Norway, where he lectures and researches at the Arctic University of Norway.
Together with co-author Tony Bakkejord, he writes The Shieldmaiden series and other Viking-era historical fiction known for its gritty realism and deep emotional core. Their earlier Viking Ventures trilogy and Fairhair have reached thousands of readers around the world.
Ole is now also developing a new pen name and diving into the world of Nordic Noir crime, bringing the same psychological depth and atmospheric realism to a darker, modern setting.
