Just getting into the editing phase of this book. Putting some words, taking others away.
Started editing this book, so not many words. Still adding a couple of short scenes.
Not much work on the new novel. Been poking at book 10, which tells me it's time to start editing that book. :)
I suppose if I keep picking at this novel, it is time for hard edits. so I'll start those this weekend.
Not so many words in book 11 tonight.
When you think if another quick scene to add in.
Just getting started on this one, but it's nice to have a few words down.
Craig was absolutely correct. As I got toward the end of my WIP, I stopped and took a quick walk today before it started raining again, and then finished it out! I think the ending is a little weak, but that's what a good first edit is all about. I've decided to go ahead and start writing book 11 in the series while I let this one marinate a little. Hope everyone is hitting their targets today!
I suppose I need long holiday weekends like this where the weather is terrible and I can't go kayaking or out with friends. Another stormy night in Atlanta. So another day of writing. Not as prolific as yesterday. I'm really close to being finished. Honestly, this WIP probably won't get to 60K, but that's OK. In the editing process, words will come out and words will get put back in. My cozies always get to just about 60K. I'm just glad I got book 10 written in a month!
I worked all day on my WIP. It rained nearly all day, so kayaking got canceled and other outdoor plans. So I wrote. A LOT. All day. I'm tired and my hands hurt. But I can see the final few chapters in my mind. I know what I need to do to finish off this cozy mystery. (I even realized I'd missed a couple of things today and had to go back and back fill some scenes.) Onward, friends!
Poked around on the WIP this afternoon after they let us off work early for the holiday weekend.
Another stormy night in Atlanta and a work from home day, so I really got some words down. The muse was with me, but now my hands ache from typing. Time for some arthritis cream for my hands and a rest for my brain. Hoping to really get cracking this holiday weekend!
A stormy night here in Atlanta, so my walk with friends got canceled. And I got some words in.
A slow day at work today, so I *might* have taken out my phone and opened my WIP on my Google Docs app and gotten in a few words while on the clock. Don't tell my boss. ;)
Not as many words today. Worked all day at the real job, which pays the bills. :)
Had to go back and rewrite a little bit, so not as many words today as yesterday. Writing room outside has closed. It is HOT in Atlanta now.
Nope. Not quite done yet. But now it's time for my French lesson on Duolingo and then to bed.
I've spent the day writing. I've really been jamming on this book, feeling better about my word count. It was a beautiful morning here in Atlanta, so the writing room moved outside on the back deck for the first few hours. I'm back inside, but I don't think I'm done writing for the day. Wrote a funny golf scene with my protagonist's husband (and his golf buddies who razzed him about his encounter with a gator on the course the last time they played). This is when writing is so much fun.
