Well today puts me over my goal of 31,000 words for the month. It has been great hanging out here and logging words. I really like my friend SH Blodgett's idea and I will post on the Facebook SIA later today. Let's all connect a little more!

β€œThat's too easy for your daily wordage! You got this! Maybe we can all say hi on a SIA post for the conclusion of this challenge?” – S.H.Blodgett

Sometimes it is hard to get started, but once I did the words felt good. I am thinking this novel will be my longest. Usually mine are 80k ish words. At 26 K, this feels like I am finishing the prologue.

β€œ26k is a huge chunk! And a lot to write in a month. You're doing great!” – S.H.Blodgett

Spent a lot of time today editing the first few chapters. I was pleased to find some good work, but there are a few paragrahs that need to go. I will use the delete button more tomorrow. My word numders are net of deletions today and my time is a very rough approximate.

β€œThose first chapters do a lot of heavy lifting. That's time well spent perfecting them!” – S.H.Blodgett

Habit is strong. I have been doing 1 k a day for a long time. Today, I didn't think there was any chance. Thinking and researching this writer into the dark pantser had to do a little plotting. Horrors!!! But I sat down to turn a few ideas into words and suddenly over a thousand words.

β€œYay! A thousand words is a huge accomplishment per day. You're definitely going to hit 30k this month!!” – S.H.Blodgett
β€œAs a fellow panster, I completely understand. Plotting feels like sacriledge, but getting stuck because you've written yourself into a corner also sucks. Trust that it will come good in the end. Your writer brain knows what to do!” – WriteObsession

Tomorrow or the next day, I need to find some time to go back and put some scenes in order. They are roughly in order, but I started with ZERO ideas. I just knew it was the next in the series. Now, I need to get serious about planting a few signposts.

β€œGood stuff.” – CreativeClaire
β€œsmart move before the story takes control. It took me a while to learn to do this!” – PhilipVE

Have you ever written your MC into an impossible-to-get-out-of situation. But the rest of the book and series requires that he get away.... Yup... that is me today realizing that that is what I have done. LOL!!!

β€œI believe in you!! (And Lazarus!) Keep on truckin!” – S.H.Blodgett

β€œI have faith he'll be like MacGyver and use a paperclip to get out of whatever situation he is in. LOL” – Lisa R. Schoolcraft

Plotting breakthoughs as I wrote today. It started with a Puma attack and ended with a fast rope and a new friend. I plot with road signs. I know I wanna go thataway and I go. Which road do I take? I figure that out on the way.

β€œHow exciting!” – S.H.Blodgett
