It's done!! Finished editing!!! Final word count is 73,280. Beta reader said that this one (#6) is the best of the series! I wish I had finished and released last month because it's a Halloween book, but life had other plans. Pushing this out as soon as I can in the next couple days to hopefully catch the Halloween readers. There are some pre-orders which is good considering I did zero advertising. The relief of being done!!
Logging the net words from editing over the last couple weeks. This book will be published next week, so now I'm just editing the last couple chapters based on beta reader feedback and making final touches. Sitting at 69,551 total words and probably will be over 70K after these last couple chapters get edited. I can't wait to be done with this one!!
Editing the last few chapters before setting it up for release, and decided that I needed to add half a chapter!

Morning review and sprint before work
I'm baaaaaack! After taking June and July to work my full-time lawyer job plus work my seasonal job grading papers, the 60 hours per week of work did not leave a lot of time for writing. Now that job #2 is finished until December, I can get in my words again before and after work. Hoping for a productive August! Goal is 1,250 words per day. Working on a new cozy mystery and should be able to finish this month if I maintain 1,250 words per day.
Major editing progress. Deleted a bunch of stray words and wrote some new ones, so this is the net. Chapters 1-9 are edited, though!

Got inspired to write chapter one of a new book. Still editing the other, so I plan to switch back to that tomorrow.
Did a quick re-read of the first 15 chapters to make sure I am ending the story consistent with the set-up, and edited to add a few words while I was at it.
Cleaned up some existing words and added a few new ones. Now that the book is towards the end, it's going to be a lot of filling in the gaps instead of writing entirely new scenes.

This was 3 separate sprints, but I didn't keep track of each one, just overall word count.
Morning sprint before the kids wake up. I'm near the end of the story. Made it over 55,000 words for this book and rewarded myself by putting it up for pre-order! Need to edit and finish, probably another 8,000 words, but making great progress.
This week has been a nightmare. Fires, school closures, emergencies at work, and a neck injury. Trying to use this weekend to get back on track!
