So, I've been very lax in updating, but also I've been unwell, so writing hasn't been great the last week. Anyway, between the thirteenth and today, this is what I've managed.
That's the net word count, actually, for the 10th. Did a bunch of chopping and cutting because the story had started to run away from the plot. Removed close to 500 words. Did some formatting too. Ughh formatting takes so long!
This is not just today's word count. This is what I've written from the 6th till the 9th. The time count is probably less than what I actually managed to put in.
Obviously I'm not going to meet my target, but at least I've crossed the halfway mark!
Finally the words are flowing again!
I have been very sporadic with the writing the past few days, and this update is actually taking into account 21st to 26th. Not great but I've crossed a total of 20k words, so that's a landmark.
It was tough going today, somehow the ideas just wouldn't flow. Will probably need significant editing later, but at least the words are down.
Spent a lot of time fixing some major issues in yesterday's chapters, so got a slightly lesser speed. But so far so good!
Saturday being my husband's day off, I managed to put in a lot of time today. Some rewriting, some fresh stuff. A good day today.
Wrote in snatches throughout the day and a lot of it was rewriting/modifying, so not really sure about the time. Best thing is that it's finally moving!
After days of struggling to get my plot into some semblance of sanity, I finally started writing. Between one thing and another, I managed to get snatches of time that probably amount to 2 hours. But there's a long way to go yet.
I've been getting very short stints to write daily. No more than 30 mins a day for the last few days, but I'm glad I've been snatching even that. Every little bit counts, right?
