Extremely motivated today because family arrives tomorrow, and nothing lights a fire under a writer quite like the looming end of uninterrupted silence. Set a new goal. Met the new goal. All the plot threads came together, the words gave me chills, and I finished May feeling much more accomplished than I have in almost a year!

Words!! What are they good for? Absolutely everything!

New goal: I'm hitting 45k by June 1st. Will it happen? Stay tuned...

Choosing sleep over writing more... But I have a great scene coming up where I know I'll crank out some great numbers tomorrow.

Trimmed and sorted a lot in yesterday's work. Didn't have much time today to write, but I managed some words despite deleting quite a few.

It's been my most productive writing day yet! The bad news is I wrote SO many words for one action-packed chapter that tomorrow I get to play my favorite game: is this one long chapter or secretly two chapters that need to be separated for their own good? The words are great. There are just a lot of them. Some may get deleted, or they may find that a few hundred more join them in this chapter.... TBD.

What a week it's been! Finished my side-quest of a book project yesterday, and today it was full steam ahead with a good word count and great momentum. The next two chapters are already outlined and waiting for me. There is nothing quite like that feeling of knowing exactly where you're going and being genuinely excited to get there. Tomorrow is going to be a good writing day. I can feel it!

I finished my side project and ordered a personal copy from B&N! It's full steam ahead on this project now, and I managed some words before just now calling it a night. My goal is to hit 35k by June 1st... Here we go!

Mostly side project today, but I squeezed some words in!

Short but sweet: Worked mostly on my side project today. It's coming along great, but with June just around the corner, I had to buckle down to knock out the formatting. Tomorrow I'll get back to words!

Day two of working on two projects. Significant progress on the WIP AND the secret children's book Father's Day situation, which is really coming together in Canva and honestly looks like something a real actual author made (which I suppose is on brand). I don't know how I got so much done today, but I am not questioning it. I accept the productivity. I do not examine it. :)

Today I spent most of my free time working on a Father's Day gift for my husband. He's been a bit blue missing some big milestones due to his work, so I'm working on a side project. I finished editing the last draft of a children's book centered on the theme: "He was there when you were born, he may miss some parts after, but he'll always come back for the rest." (Very generalized summary.) Now, I'm using Canva to put together the pages and Barnes & Noble Press to arrange a personal print of it!

I did write a tad over 500 words on my main book for this May writing challenge. Yay!

Minutes here and there were spent on writing and then outlining the next two chapters. I would like to thank the coffee, the playlist that carried me through, and the time I scrounged up in a very busy day in getting this far. My characters are definitely not okay...

Did I sit and stare at a sentence for what felt like a reasonable amount of time, only to look up and realize eleven minutes had passed, and I had written the word 'the'? Yes. In my defense, I am running on approximately half a functioning brain cell today, and that little guy is working SO hard. Baby brain is real.

Lots of edits and plotting for upcoming chapters... IYKYK

These were fast words and will require some good editing tomorrow. Future me is already dreading it, but future me also isn't here right now, so that's her problem. :)

I'm terrible about time estimating... I think I sat down to write at least six times today for these words. But I got them done! :)

Time is being heavily estimated. Snuck in words between many, many tasks! 44 pages are drafted thus far.

I haven't updated thus far, but I plan to log from here on out! The home front has been a tad chaotic lately, but with things settling down, I'm excited to dig into my goal of finishing a third of this book in May. I have approx. 12 hours into this draft on the writing front (many more spent on outlining). Book two in this series is shaping up nicely!
